History of the Tritsch House

The house was built in 1902 by Anton Walser for Frank Tritsch – who was the first white male child born in the city of Alma. The Tritsch family emigrated from Germany in 1856, and Frank was born that same year. He helped all his life in his family’s mercantile store, passing away in 1911. The house was later sold to a local church to be used as the church parsonage. In the early 2000s, it was remodeled into a bed and breakfast, with the addition of private bathrooms in each bedroom. While the house is no longer a full service B&B, it still offers guests a wonderful place to call home.
